[QAFA] National Demonstration against the Arizona Government
Oyé Oyé,
To all queers and friends,
To everyone who's sick of the continuous attacks from our gouvernements, who's exhausted but more angry than ever !
We won't endure for more years of Arizona, so join us in the queer antifascist block this Friday 9th of October, at 10am, Carrefour Store Place de l'Europe (central station - look for our flags 🩷 🖤 🤍), to put an end to neoliberal & fascits policies which kill our adelphes everyday.
And because Arizona's downfall won't be sufficient : we have to organize to fight the institutional Left's liberalism to - one day - burn our imperialist state to ashes.
QAFA's queer antifascist assemblies are open to all and take place every last Sunday of the month. Countless other organisations need strength and financial support, such as Transfem Belgium, TSFB, Herhalde, Brussels for Palestine ... and so much more.
We support the movements from the youth, students, and teachers who are fighting against the austerity policies imposed by the racist Azur and Arizona governments. We stand in solidarity with the youth in Liège and Charleroi who are facing extreme police repression and we will be there as a care team with saline solution and masks this Friday, and will not allow the state to exercise its violence without limits.
The federal government’s annual budget meeting, led by Bart De Wever, just took place on the weekend of October 3–4. Its goal is to take measures to reduce the deficit, which stands at 10 billion euros—and where do you think they’ll find that money? In our pockets, of course…
Measures have been piling up for 19 months, already affecting pensions, wages, unemployment benefits, sick leave, working conditions, social security, and public services… Since the Arizona government took office, the country and its people have found themselves in a more precarious situation than ever before.
We are joining our voices with the unions :
✗ Don’t touch the indexation
✗ No to the VAT increase
✗ Reject the annualization of working hours
Selected measures from the FWB government’s budget meeting, led by the MR-Engagés coalition
In addition to laws already in the process of being passed—such as the so-called “visites domiciliaires” law, which will enable massive roundups and authorize the police to break into our private homes to remove people living there without valid residency status—a power that not even ICE in the U.S. possesses.
On November 20th, we will gather as every year, to commemorate our trans adelphes who have been killed over the course of the year. Our adelphes are dying because of our governments’ transphobic policies; we demand full reimbursement of all transition-related costs, including our hormones, our hair removal, and our surgeries.
We want an end to borders and the unconditional welcome of all people passing through or wishing to reside in Belgium; an end to transphobia, homophobia, and institutional serophobia. We want to end the psychiatrisation of our lives and demand free self-determination for all. We want an end to the criminalization of mutual aid in hormone access and autonomous transition methods.
Finally, we want an end to the genocidal and colonial imperialism ruthlessly carried out by the Belgian state, for which all political leaders bear responsibility.
See you soon, & if you have any questions about accessibility, please don't hesitate to contact us.
